Whether you are interested in learning for recreation or to become a professional,
a child or adult, it is vital to have a qualified and caring teacher to guide you in
your journey. Education and lifelong learning are commitments of Dr. Fountain,
who currently offers private instruction in pedal and Celtic harp, piano, music theory,
composition and music history from her studio in Palm Springs.

Once the youngest college professor in the world, Dr. Fountain taught at the University of Arizona as the Graduate Harp Teaching Assistant to Dr. Carrol McLaughlin and has been an instructor at the College of the Desert and Norco College. Later she became Associate Professor and Chair of Music at Mt. San Jacinto College, where she taught music theory, history, harp and piano, and directed the college orchestra. After serving as Dean of Arts, Languages, and Communication at Grossmont College, she came home to the Coachella Valley in 2026 to be Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Arts at the College of the Desert. Having been a Teaching Artist with the McCallum Theatre she has educated as well as performed for K-12 school classrooms and provided professional development opportunities for teachers. Upon request, Dr. Fountain is available as a guest

lecturer or concert artist for educational institutions or groups on a variety of topics in music.
